North – Ossetian State Medical Academy is located in the town Vladikavkaz one of the most beautiful towns of the Large Caucasian Mountains. The nature of the North – Ossetia is picturesque and original. Here we can see magnificent mountains, capped with snow and glaciers, green alpine meadows and impetious rivers. The climate of North – Ossetia is temporally continental. The winter here is mild, but summer sometimes is dry due to the influence of the hot middle east desert’s air.

NOSMA was founded in 1920. For the period of its existence, over 21 000 highly qualified specialists have graduated from it. The graduates of NOSMA successfully work not only in the republic but in all regions of Russian Federation and abroad too. At the 41 chairs of the academy work 384 professors and teachers: 53 Doctors of Medical Sciences, 34 Professors, 242 Candidates of Medical Sciences, and 62 Assistant Doctors.

Hostel

You will live in a student's hostel especially for Indian students. This is the hostel specially renovated as the cultural, educational and residential requirements of an Indian student studying in Russia. The rules and regulations for residing in this hostel are very strict, again from the cultural system in any Indian family. (Please read 'Rules and regulations for residing in the hostel'.) The system of residence is separate for boys and girls, 2,3 or 4 seated big rooms, upgraded comforts, central heating, full furniture with beddings, shower room, toilet, washbasin room, everyday cleaning of rooms, security guards, reception, cleaning and washing personnel, 24 hour medical center, well equipped Gymnasiums with hi-tech machines with personal trainers.

You can live in some rented flat or somewhere else but we recommend staying in hostel at least for first year. Because first of all you need a migration card with 6 years of validity where your address registration must be done (compulsory) which university hostels provides but apartment owners usually don’t want to provide you. Second you need to learn basic Russian to live outside hostel campus. Crimean local people are very friendly and respectful to foreigners as Crimea has a mix culture since beginning and they respect Indian people more because of India-Russia friendship. Even after all that hostel is the safest place to live because it provides 24hr security  for students. University has 5 government hostels in which rooms resembles as apartment. If you want to live in a apartment get migration card done from hostel first then go for apartment.

laundry

You are provided with a laundry in the hostel, where the laundry staff will wash your cloths and iron them. You just have to bring your cloths to the laundry, hand over to laundry staff, get a plastic token and after two days collect them from the laundry. Of course, there is a nominal charge for this service. 
 

sport

There is a large gamma of sport facilities for sport enthusiasts. There is a Cricket ground, where Indian students enjoy playing cricket. All sport facilities, including Tennis, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton, Table tennis, etc are available. There is a swimming pool with sauna bath in the campus. Frequent sports tournaments are organized, where Indian students participate enthusiastically.

Labs: - The institute has a well-equipped lab in the campus with modern equipment and tools.

Computer lab: - The institute has a well-equipped computer lab in the campus with latest computer machines and tools.

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO ANY  FOREIGN MEDICAL UNIVERSITY?

A: According to Graduate Medical Education 1997 of Medical Council of India, the minimum qualification for Indian student for admission to any Foreign Medical Institutions is as follows:

1. He/she shall complete the age of 17 years on or before the 31st of December in the year of admission.

2. He/she must have passed in 10+2 or equivalent examination in the subjects of  PCB- 50% AVG.

3. The candidate must qualify NEET examination.
